What Our Passengers Are Saying

"I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. People are flying in and out of the country daily and a lot of times we don’t get to stop and sit and really understand the daily actions and class systems that have become normalized. We are creating distance between ourselves and others...We are in this world together and we need to figure out this world together.” Tonye Ekine, Artist and British Council Venice Fellow

"Business Class is a disarming and fun exeperience that encourages us to recognize and talk about issues that impact us all. Captain Schutt pilots with panache and leaves passsengers feeling hopeful, energized and wanting more." Cordelia Hill, MSW Southern Main Agency on Aging

"Business Class is a hilarious, disorientating thought provoking experience that everyone should have." Jamie Inman, Serious People

"Joyous sillness but with perspective shifting insight somehow trojan horsed in there." Jack Durant, Youngwilders

"An intriguing, inspiring and very creative way of looking at our attitudes towards environmental sustainability, class, economics and behaviours...thank you Captain!" Rebecca King-Lassman, ACT IV

"Business Class is a unique and illuminating group activity. It's theatrical, thought-provoking and community building." Yoojin Grace Wuertz, Author

"Through role play and dialogue, Business Class unearthered invaluable insight into the interconnected fabric of our world and the personal and environmental implications." Nicholas Heller, Pastique

Captain Schutt makes us REALLY feel and reflect on our class in an absurd and heart-opening way. It really felt like an alternate reality where we could suddenly talk to our fellow flightmates openly about society. Bravo!" Kaixi Yang, Talking Animals

"I was awed by Becky's creativity and sense of fun. Business Class was so well executed and enjoyable. Perfect for a company event- where we are a captive audience :)"

"She was absolutely amazing. No faults at all. She looked after us, made us all feel so welcome, helped us find ourselves and was such a pleasure to be around. Becky Schutt is one in a million. Honestly, I could say no faults."

“The experience was vulnerable, requiring trust and bravery - and for the pilot, it required gentle leadership and guidance - much like actual air travel!” Bethany McShepherd, London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) | Blank Cheque

"Becky is exceedingly warm, welcoming and makes us feel heard and valued, plus she has a great sense of humour. Quite a unique wonderful energy. Perfect for this."

"To 'enact' - and reflect on - an experience that entails conviviality (and its opposite), geography (and its denial), identity (and its dissolution) was subtly revealing. Unlike any other plane trip, I wish Business Class was longer... I hope to travel again with your airline in the future.” Marcio Junji Sono, Curator Brazil Embassy, UK

"Business Class is truly a one-off experience about class, power and corruption. It is simply brilliant!” David Tovey Co-Director, Arts & Homelessness International

"Becky is a total ray of sunshine. So much genuine fascination and investment in absolutely everyone."

"Becky has been 100/10 as our captain- thank you simply doesn't cut it, however a huge thank you nonetheless."

"She was Brilliant - incredibly encouraging and created space for everyone!"

“The only airline in the world where First Class passengers (might) share with others that they (might) feel bad about their seat-allocation.” Dr. Grigory Adrewychev The Institute for Advanced Study

Becky facilitated with such care and grace that she inspired my own practice. Despite having over a decade's worth of facilitation experience, I took from her some vital skills to help create that safe environment we were in."

Thank you so much for joining us at Poly and taking us around the world and back. While I’d normally have plenty of feedback to offer, this time, I can only share my appreciation. It is rare that I have the desire to participate in in-person Professional Development that is not mandated by my department, but I love and trust my director so much that it was an easy choice to make. And what a great choice it was! You and Susie were so quick to create a fun atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding while keeping things light and funny. You navigated some strong, unique personalities with grace and seemed to blend seamlessly into the dynamic we entered with as coworkers. While what we did was certainly work, it didn’t feel like it, which I believe is the sign of a truly engaging learning experience. I hope this doesn’t come across as being overly sappy, but I did love my Business Class experience (even from super economy seats). If there’s any way I can get you both to come back and do this with a group of students, I’d love to be involved however I can. In partnership, Ben Marks Psychologist Poly Prep Country Day School

"I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for inviting me to participate in the Business Class event. The evening was not only enlightening but also impactful. The way you presented the concept of social class through the airline ticket exercise was both thought-provoking and engaging. I was particularly impressed by your family's involvement; it truly added a special touch to the experience. The diverse roles everyone played made the conversation around socioeconomic differences all the more poignant. It is a reminder of how class affects our interactions and how we are perceived in everyday life.

The discussions that arose during the event resonated with me, especially regarding the lasting effects of these experiences. It sparked my thoughts on how my art exhibitions aim to evoke emotions and challenge perceptions of the unhoused. I can only hope that conversations like ours encourage attendees to reflect on their own lives and foster meaningful change. As someone who regularly participates in community engagement efforts surrounding race, barriers, and justice, I was inspired by the potential for dialogue to lead to action. My pursuit of an MSW was driven by a desire to delve deeper into these societal complexities and how I can make a difference, every day. Thank you again for your innovative idea and for the opportunity to be part of such an impactful evening. Ruthann Traylor, MSW ArtSpace Director, Homefront
